CAN’T WE JUST LOVE THE BODIES WE ARE IN?

FIVE HINTS FROM HAYLEY ON WHERE TO START

I have been doing some intermittent fasting recently after reading a really interesting article on how our bodies have three cycles to our digestive system.

As I am talking about it to people Im finding there is a general assumption that Im on a diet! No big deal really and Ive enjoyed analysing this because it has got me thinking…. CANT WE JUST LOVE THE BODIES WE ARE IN?

Cant a decision about what we eat, when we eat, and why we eat it be because WE LOVE OUR BODIES and CARE what we put in them?

You see, we are bombarded from a very young age with ways we can compare ourselves to other human beings. We are taught through media that skinny equals healthy. We are typically searching for validation or acceptance from others and concerned about how we look more than who we are.

When i made the choice to try this intermittent fasting i was thinking about my cells being cleansed and dancing around, i thought about how all of the systems of my body would be working harmoniously again,  sure if a few KAY GEE’s feel like falling off as a result Im probably not going to grieve but at the end of the day i can say that i love my body enough to want to support it with things i believe intuitively are right for me. Whether it be food, movement or even thoughts because my cells are responding to them aswell?

I DARE YOU to say this out loud before your next workout.

I DARE YOU to say this next time you look in the mirror in your birthday suit.

I DARE YOU to say this before every meal.

……. I LOVE MY BODY AND CHOOSE TO SUPPORT IT WITH NOURISHING FOOD, MOVEMENT and THOUGHTS.

ALL of it…. every nook and bloody cranny!

This day and age i would consider it a rebellious act to love who you are in a world that makes a fortune getting you to believe you aren’t good enough already.

REBEL awesome people and REVEL in YOURSELVES!

FIVE WAYS TO GIVE YO SELVES SOME LOVE :

1. Thank your feet! Seriously how much do they do for us and ask very little in return. Blend some Peppermint Essential oil in a carrier or plain oil and rub it into your tootsies. Make it count though,  lots of squeezing and moving through every little tender spot. Do it in bed, at your desk at work, geez in front of the tele if you have too?

2. Stretch your body! Start by laying on a hard floor and just move around until you get into positions that feel GOOOOOOOD! My fave is child pose! This will ground and calm you and also slow your breathing down, which leads us to number three?

3. STOP… collaborate and listen !!!! hehe…. seriously though, this is the one where i know I need to practice what Im preaching 🙂 Being busy is kind of glorified these days so we need to make time to do NOTHING! Put on the kettle and make a cuppa using Lemon essential oil, press play on Spotify or iTunes, run a good old fashioned bath and add essential oils like Lavendar and Frankincense… Mmmmmmm sink your head underneath the water and listen to your heart beat.

4. BREATHE … Sounds like a no brainer right but when we are babies we naturally take these big deep belly breaths with little pauses between each  inhalation and exhalation. As we get older we tend not to practice this deeper, natural state of breathing and therefore our cells don’t get as much oxygen as they could be. Try it! To practise it helps to split the breath up into three parts

INHALE-

1. BELLY BLOWS UP LIKE A BALLOON

2.RIB CAGE EXPANDS

3. THEN CHEST AND SHOULDERS MOVE FOR THE LAST BIT OF INHALATION

EXHALE-

BELLY BALLOON DEFLATES, AIR IS BLOWN GENTLY OVER THE LIPS FOR AS LONG AS IT TAKES UNTIL YOURE READY TO BREATHE IN DEEPLY AGAIN.

TIP- MAKE A SOUND ON THE EXHALE AND YOU CAN MAKE IT LAST FOR AGES!!! ALSO PUT A DROP OF a Respiratory support blend called EASY AIR in the palm of your hand and inhale deeply with each breath.

and last but not least….

5. Let yourself IN-JOY food! Don’t be dirty on yourself for every single ‘BAD’ thing that crosses your lips. Focus more energy on what AWESOME GOODNESS you can add to your day not what you CANT HAVE. Im not saying eat shit and don’t care, that wouldn’t exactly be an act of self nuture but don’t guilt yourself up at every meal either. Find a balance and create a healthy relationship with food. Make it enjoyable by adding therapeutic grade essential oils to your food and drinks for added health benefits and bursting flavour! My fave is my RAW CHAI CHOCOLATES… using cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, black pepper and wild orange essential oils
